Tourist Attractions in Jaipur

Jaipur, the erstwhile capital of former Kachwaha rulers, is a versatile tourist destination in Rajasthan with a bounty of beautifully built palaces, forts and other monuments speaking the volumes of their makers.
Amber Fort

 

Built by Raja Man Singh in 1592 AD, Amber Fort or Amer Palace is located high on a hill, around 11 kms from Jaipur. The Fort, overlooking the Maota Lake at its forefront, is known for its artistic style of Hindu elements. The fort houses 'Shila Devi' Temple and 'Ganesh Pol' which is a gate that leads to the private palaces of the kings.

Jal Mahal (Water Palace)

 

Jal Mahal (The Water Palace) that appears to float in the middle of the Man Sagar Lake in Jaipur city, is located on the main Amer-Jaipur road, 4 kms to the north of Jaipur. The palace and the lake around it were renovated and enlarged in the 18th century by Maharaja Jai Singh II of Amber. Constructed from pink sandstone, Jal Mahal follows the classical Rajput symmetrical style.

Galtaji & Monkey Temple

 

Built in the 18th century by Diwan Rao Kriparam, the Galtaji Temple, also known as 'the Monkey Temple', is an ancient holy place for the Hindus and considered as the Acharya Peetham - the Holy Throne of the Supreme. Perched on the crown of a mount, the temple, is located at close quarters from the beautiful Sisodia Rani-ka Bagh.

 Birla Temple (Lakshmi Narayan Mandir)

Situated below the Moti Dungri Fort in Jaipur, Birla Mandir is a proud architectural landmark of Jaipur, built purely with white marble. The temple is an abode of Hindu Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi which houses beautifully sculpted idols of the duo as well as other Hindu Gods and Goddesses. Birla Mandir is just 1 km from the hotel.

 Nahargarh Fort (Tiger Fort)

Built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II in 1734, Nahargarh Fort, along with other two forts viz., Amer Fort and Jaigarh Fort, once formed a strong defense for Jaipur city. Located on Aravalli Hills, this fort gives you a breathtaking view of the scenic surroundings. One of the major tourist attractions of Jaipur, Nahargarh Fort is noted for its extended wall which connects it to the Jaigarh Fort. It is believed that the construction of this fort was obstructed by the spirit of a Rathore prince, Nahar Singh Bhomia. However, the spirit was pacified when a temple dedicated to him was built inside the fort.

Jaigarh Fort

 

Situated on the promontory called the Cheel ka Teela (Hill of Eagles) of the Aravalli range, the Jaigarh Fort was originally built to protect the Amer Fort and the palace within the complex. The fort houses the world's largest cannon on wheels, a majestic palace complex and the assembly hall of the warriors known as 'Shubhat Niwas' along with a museum and an armory.

Govind Devji Temple

One of the most sacred temples in India, the temple of Govind Dev Ji (Lord Krishna) is located between Chandra Mahal and Badal Mahal in the City Palace complex and is a famous tourist destinations in India. It is believed that the image in this temple looks exactly how Lord Krishna looked during his incarnation on earth.

The festival of Janmashtami is among the most important ones celebrated here as it commemorates the birth of Lord Krishna.
Jaipur Animal & Bird Zoo

The Jaipiur Zoo is located near to the Albert Hall in the gleaming garden of Ram Niwas Bagh. Nearly 50 species of different birds and animals from all over the world can be seen here. In year 1999, the ghariyal breeding farm is established which is fourth largest breeding farm in India. The Zoo also houses a museum which exhibits the wildlife of Rajasthan.

City Palace

Built between 1729 and 1732 AD by Sawai Jai Singh II, the magnificent City Palace lures thousands of tourists through its Rajput, Mughal and European architectural styles. The Palace also includes the famous 'Chandra Mahal' and 'Mubarak Mahal' and is located at a distance of 3 kms from the hotel.

'Hawa Mahal' Palace of the Winds

Hawa Mahal - Palace of the Winds, is a widely known name around the globe and is one of the most prominent tourist places in India. Built in 1799, the Palace has five floors that contain rows of small windows and screens. Hawa Mahal is 2.5 kms away from the hotel.

Jantar Mantar Observatory

Built by King Jai Singh II between 1727 and 1734, Jantar Mantar is not just a place that houses a portfolio of sculptures, it also has a specialized astronomical function. There are 14 structures in total, which measure time, predict eclipses and track stars.

Albert Hall (Central Museum)

Albert Hall Museum houses a collection of portraits of local kings, costumes, woodcarvings, paintings, arts and crafts. The museum is modelled on the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Albert Hall Museum is just 1 km away from the hotel.
